At Chubb we understand the investments you have made in technology and your information systems. We are sensitive to these decisions and have made every attempt to architect our systems in such a fashion as to minimize the requirements we may place upon you to use them. We are constantly surveying our producers and clients to gauge their current system capabilities and methods by which they access the Internet. We have attempted to strike a balance between providing you with superior functionality and making the system usable to the great majority of our producers and clients.

Browser Requirements

Normally you will not have to adjust your browser settings to use any of our applications. If you are experiencing difficulty accessing @chubb, please check the following requirements and your browser settings. For additional information, please refer to your browser's Help facility.

Item Requirements
Browser Netscape Navigator version 4.75 and 4.79
  Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0
  It is recommended that all AOL users follow these steps:
  • establish an internet connection by logging on to AOL
  • minimize the AOL window
  • open Internet Explorer or Netscape
  • log on to Chubb applications through the Internet Explorer or Netscape
Java Script This option must be enabled
Cookies Acceptance of cookies must be enabled
Encryption Browser must support 128 bit encryption. SSL v2 and v3 must be enabled.

Click on the Internet Explorer icon to go to Microsoft's Website to download the most current Internet Explorer browser - 128 Encryption Version.
Click on the Netscape icon to go to Netscape's website to download the most current Netscape browser - Standard Encryption version.
For America Online users, type in Keyword "128browser" and follow the instructions provided by AOL.

Use of Browser Plug-ins

Browser plug-ins are software applications that work within your browser to extend its capabilities. They allow a browser to display video, play sounds, view files, play games and enhance the basic pictures and text experience that many sites are now begging to offer. Plug-ins differ from applications that may be installed on your computer to perform many of these functions, in that they are designed to specifically work within your browser.

Like browsers, software and other applications, plug-ins were designed to run on specific computer platforms. Some applications within @chubb. use specific plug-ins to provide for more functionality and enhance our ability to bring you information. Whenever an application requires a specific plug-in, it will be clearly marked and we will provide a link to a site on the worldwide web where you can download and install the most recent version. Click on the download link; wait for the files to be downloaded to your PC. Once you have downloaded them to your PC, follow the directions provided by the manufacturer for installing them on your system.
